Abstrak : Perawatan yang tepat pada mesin dapat meningkatkan keefektifan penggunaan mesin tersebut serta mengurangi losses. Mesin carding cotton merupakan salah satu mesin yang penting dalam proses produksi benang. Mesin carding cotton memiliki downtime tertinggi sehingga tingkat efektivitas penggunaannya perlu dianalisis. Untuk mengukur tingkat efektivitas penggunaan mesin carding cotton digunakan metode overall equipment effectiveness. Overall equipment effectiveness adalah suatu pendekatan untuk menilai tingkat efektivitas penggunaan suatu peralatan. Hasil perhitungan menunjukkan nilai rata-rata OEE carding cotton 5 sebesar 63,75%, carding cotton 6 sebesar 68,81% dan carding cotton 12 sebesar 67,32%. Losses yang paling mempengaruhi tingkat efektivitas mesin adalah reduced speed losses pada carding cotton 5 sebesar 151965.22 menit, carding cotton 6 sebesar 165171.31 menit, dan carding cotton 12 sebesar 161184.96 menit. Analisis dilakukan pada komponen mesin carding cotton dengan metode FMEA. Terdapat 2 komponen yang diprioritaskan berdasarkan hasil perhitungan RPN yaitu PLC rusak dan gear aus.

ANALYSIS OF TOTAL PRODUCTIVE MAINTENANCE ON COTTON CARDING MACHINE USING OVERALL EQUIPMENT EFFECTIVENESS METHOD

Abstract : A proper machine maintenance can increase the effectiveness of machine utilization and reduce the losses. Cotton carding machines provide important process in yarn production. Cotton carding machines have the highest downtime, so this study will analyze its effectiveness. The study measures the effectiveness of cotton carding machines using overall equipment effectiveness method. Overall equipment effectiveness is an approach to assess the effectiveness of equipment utilization. The result shows that the average value of OEE of cotton carding machine 5 at 63.75%, cotton carding machine 6 at 68.81% and cotton carding machine 12 at 67.32%. The most losses that reduce cotton carding machine effectiveness is reduced speed losses, about 151965.22 minutes on cotton carding machine 5, about 165171.31 minutes on cotton carding machine 6, and about 161184.96 minutes on cotton carding machine 12. The study conducts further analysis on cotton carding machine components using FMEA method. Based on Risk Priority Number (RPN) calculation, there are two prioritized components, broken PLC and wear gears.
