PERANCANGAN TATA LETAK DAN PALLET RACKING SYSTEM SEBAGAI PENDUKUNG PENGENDALIAN BARANG DI GUDANG PRODUK JADI

Abstrak : Sebuah perusahaan pupuk organik menggunakan gudang sebagai tempat penyimpanan produk. Berdasarkan pengecekan ulang produk pada tanggal 16 oktober 2013, terdapat 1000 sak hasil produksi bulan November 2012 yang masih tersimpan di gudang dan mengalami penyusutan berat sebesar kurang lebih 3 kg tiap sak. Hal tersebut terjadi karena pada aktivitas penataan dan pengambilan produk terdapat masalah kesulitan akses dan penentuan secara acak. Penelitian ini merancang pengendalian barang di gudang sesuai dengan metode First In First Out (FIFO). Perancangan Pallet Racking System digunakan untuk mengatasi kesulitan penumpukan produk. Perancangan tata letak digunakan untuk mengatasi kesulitan akses produk di gudang. Rancangan Pallet Racking System menampung 4 tingkat palet sebanyak 140 sak. Rancangan tata letak usulan mempunyai persentase area penyimpanan yang dapat diakses sebesar 100%. Tata letak terpilih menggunakan reach truck forklift. Pengendalian barang dirancang pada aktivitas penerimaan, penyimpanan, dan pengambilan. Pengendalian barang menggunakan papan kendali sebagai pengontrol lokasi produk di gudang.

DESIGN OF FACILITY LAYOUT AND PALLET RACKING SYSTEM TO SUPPORT WAREHOUSING ACTIVITIES OF FINISHED PRODUCTS

Abstract : An organic fertilizer producer manages warehouse as product storage. Based on the stock opname of products on October 16, 2013, there are 1000 sacks that produced in November 2012 are still stored in warehouses and suffered severe shrinkage of approximately 3 kg per sack. The warehousing activities have some problems, such as the difficult access and the random decision. This study design a warehouse controlling systems based on First In First Out (FIFO) method. It design Pallet Racking System to facilitate product buildup consistently. It design warehouse layout to ease the access of warehousing activities. The proposed Pallet Racking System accommodate four levels of pallets that equivalent to 140 sacks. The proposed layout enlarge the percentage of storage area access into 100%. It use a forklift for material handling activities. It design control procedure for receiving, storing, and picking activities. It uses control panel to monitor the location of products in the warehouse.
